[South Park]Contractor dies after falling through roof of building in South Park

  SOUTH PARK TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

  A man who was working at a building in South Park died after he fell through the roof on Wednesday morning, police said.

  Allegheny County police said it happened at the Agricultural Building, which is along Brownsville Road at the South Park Fairgrounds.

  Police said the 59-year-old worker fell through the roof and was unresponsive when paramedics arrived. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

  Police said the man was an employee of Marsa Masonry, contracted to work on the Agricultural Building.

  Police said the victim left scaffolding he was working from and climbed onto the roof of the building. A witness saw him fall backward and through a skylight in the roof. He fell approximately 21 feet. Police said foul play is not suspected.

  The man’s identity has not yet been released.
