I’m a senior staff editor on the Culture desk who has one foot in the 1990s and the other in outer space.

Here are five things I’ve been watching, playing and listening to lately →

  Video Game: ‘Luigi’s Mansion 3’

Mario may be the star, but it’s his brother — tenderhearted Luigi — who speaks to me. In this game, he’s no sidekick, but a hero on a quest to save his loved ones from dastardly ghosts. The story is absorbing; the action is heart-pumping.

  Music: Tash Sultana

I entered the 1990s as a 9-year-old and exited them at 19, a span of years when I felt the most of all the feelings, and because of that, I will forever be a devotee of the decade.

I adore this Instagram page dedicated to ’90s pop culture mementos — some you may know and love (Kurt Cobain donning red sunglasses and a Christmas garland, photographed by Alice Wheeler), and others you’ve probably never seen (David Bowie and Iman in the Swiss Alps).
